Exploring UCC History, Polity, and Theology

NEW! Course to be taught starting Sunday, July 11

Welcome to St. John’s United Church of Christ, we are so glad you are worshiping here! If you are ready to take the next step, we invite you to join us for our next New Members Class, which will be offered on Sundays from 11 a.m. to noon starting July 11. The class will be taught by Pastor David Poe, our Interim Minister. There will be six sessions:

1 – The United Church of Christ: “Our faith is 2,000 years old. Our thinking is not.”

2 – The Statement of Faith: A Testimony, Not Test

3 – A Church of Firsts: A Historic and Ongoing Commitment to Joining Faith and Action

4 – The Local Church: Membership, Organization, Freedoms, and Responsibilities

5 – General Synod: The Gathering of the Wider Church

6 – Worship in the UCC: Diverse in Practice, United in Scripture, Song, and Sacrament

This class is also for those of you who would simply like to explore UCC history, polity, and theology as part of your continuing education. There is no fee to participate and anyone can attend.
